Ashwini Vaishnaw to Attend Railway National Awards in Jaipur
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visits Jaipur on Dec 12 for the National Award Ceremony, promising infrastructure updates for Rajasthan.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is set to visit Jaipur on December 12 to preside over the prestigious Railway National Award Ceremony. This high-profile visit is expected to be a significant moment for the region, with many anticipating major announcements regarding infrastructure and new project developments for Rajasthan's railway network.
A Gathering of Railway Leadership
The ceremony will serve as a massive assembly of the Indian Railways' top brass. Joining Minister Vaishnaw will be the Minister of State for Railways, V. Somanna. The event will also host Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar, alongside various Directors General, Board Members, and General Managers from all Zonal Railways and Production Units.
To ensure the high-level event proceeds without a hitch, Railway General Manager Pankaj Sharma has been tasked with overseeing all comprehensive arrangements for the ceremony.
Infrastructure Boost and Station Redevelopment
The Minister's visit comes at a time when the government is heavily pushing the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This ambitious initiative, which aims to redevelop 1,300 railway stations across the country, includes several key locations within Rajasthan that are part of this modernization drive.
In addition to infrastructure, the ministry has been managing several critical updates:
- Recruitment Deadlines: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) have extended the application deadline for the RRB NTPC Graduate Recruitment 2026 (CEN 06/2026) to November 8, 2026.
- Festive Season Management: Minister Vaishnaw has been actively monitoring operations from the Rail Bhawan 'War Room,' using technology-driven real-time coordination to manage crowds and enhance passenger safety during the festive period.
Heightened Security Focus
Safety remains a top priority for the ministry. This follows an ongoing investigation into an explosion that damaged railway tracks near 50 GB village in the Sri Ganganagar district. The case is currently being handled by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and local law enforcement to ensure the continued security of the rail infrastructure.
