Bahraich Trains Back on Track After Obstruction Cleared

Commuters in the Bahraich area can finally breathe a sigh of relief as train services returned to normal on Monday morning, September 28, 2026. The resumption follows the successful removal of obstructions that had been blocking the railway tracks.

The restoration of services covers essential routes, specifically the lines running from Risia to Bahraich and the Matera-Nanpara-Nepalganj stretch. Adding to the positive news, a brand new DEMO train service also kicked off its operations between Nepalganj and Varanasi on that same morning. Amresh Kumar Singh, the Station Master, officially confirmed that the tracks are clear and movement has resumed.

This recovery follows a period of intense infrastructure upgrades in the region. Most notably, the massive broad gauge conversion project between Rupaidiha and Bahraich was formally inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on September 1, 2026.
