New Train Extension: Bareilly–New Delhi Express to now run from Kasganj

The Ministry of Railways has officially sanctioned the extension of train numbers 14315/14316, the New Delhi–Bareilly Express, up to Kasganj. This decision follows a proposal from North Eastern Railway and will link the Kasganj and Budaun regions directly to New Delhi. The Railway Board issued the approval order on January 24, 2026, after requests from Union Minister B.L. Verma to the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

The extended service will now provide direct connectivity for passengers in Budaun and Ujhani. According to official reports, the train will have commercial stoppages at several stations between Bareilly and Kasganj. This change will help daily commuters, students, and local traders who currently depend on road transport or indirect routes to reach the national capital. The planned stops on the extended section include:

  • Budaun
  • Ujhani
  • Soron Sukar Kshetra
  • Ramganga Pul
  • Babugarh (subject to operational feasibility)

What should passengers know about the new service

The train will operate with 21 coaches, including a mix of general, sleeper, and air-conditioned coaches to accommodate different passenger needs. Kasganj station has been designated to handle the primary maintenance of the train rake. The Railway Board has directed officials to implement the extension at the earliest convenient date, preferably starting from the advance reservation period. This extension will transform the service into the Kasganj–New Delhi–Kasganj Express, replacing the previous Bareilly terminal point.
