New Train Announcement: Tanakpur-Achhnera Express regularized and six trains diverted via Bareilly
Bareilly railway station is witnessing a series of major changes in train operations starting this March and April. The Railway Board has issued orders to regularize several special trains and adjust the status of existing superfast services. Passengers traveling through Bareilly will also see new routes for various trains due to maintenance blocks on other lines.

Changes in Train Status and New Regular Services
The Tanakpur-Achhnera Express, which previously operated as a special service, has been made a permanent express train. It will now run five days a week with new numbers. Similarly, the weekly special train between Mumbai Central and Kathgodam has also been converted into a regular service to accommodate passenger demand. However, some popular trains like Upasana and Himgiri Express will see a change in their designation from superfast to mail/express trains.

Route Diversions and Future Modern Trains
Due to a mega block on the Kanpur-Lucknow rail line from April 2 to May 13, six trains running between Delhi, Etawah, and Kanpur will be diverted via Bareilly and Moradabad. This temporary change will impact schedules but ensures continued connectivity. Looking ahead, Indian Railways plans to introduce two Vande Bharat and three Amrit Bharat trains through Bareilly in the 2026-27 financial year to improve travel speed and comfort.
