The long-standing traffic congestion at Sarayjagdish Phatak is set to be resolved with the official approval of the Bhadohi railway overbridge construction project. Estimated to cost approximately ₹80 crore, this massive infrastructure development aims to provide seamless connectivity and end the daily struggle for commuters in the region.

Relief for Gyanpur Constituency

During a press conference held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Gyanpur MLA Vipul Dubey announced that administrative approval for the construction has been officially secured. The project is currently moving through the necessary technical stages. Construction is expected to begin once the required technical formalities are completed and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is obtained from the Railways.

Boosting Connectivity for Villages and Pilgrims

Once the overbridge is finalized, it is expected to transform regional travel by significantly improving access for several groups:

  • Rural Connectivity: The bridge will serve approximately 100 villages, including those in the Deeh area, providing a much faster route for residents.
  • Religious Tourism: It will facilitate easier travel for tourists and pilgrims visiting significant local sites such as Sitamadhi and Semradh.
  • Traffic Mitigation: By bypassing the Sarayjagdish railway crossing, the project will eliminate the significant delays currently experienced on the Jangiganj-Dhantulsi route.
