Bhadohi Stations: Passengers Struggle Without Coach Indicators

Commuters traveling through the Bhadohi district's railway network are facing significant hardships due to a critical lack of functional infrastructure. Despite ongoing modernization efforts, the absence of working coach guidance systems has turned routine travel into a chaotic experience for many passengers.
A Network Lacking Guidance
The scale of the problem is staggering. Out of the seven railway stations located within the Bhadohi district, only one was ever equipped with a coach indicator system. To make matters worse, even that single unit is currently non-functional. This leaves travelers with no way to know exactly where their designated coach will stop along the platform.
This deficiency is most problematic during the brief stops made by many trains, which can last as little as two minutes. Without visual guidance, passengers are forced to scramble along the platform in a desperate race to find their coach before the train departs.
The Looming Threat of Foggy Season
The situation is expected to become even more dangerous as the foggy season approaches. With reduced visibility making it harder to navigate platforms and identify train movements, the lack of digital coach indicators could lead to increased confusion and the risk of passengers missing their trains entirely.
Development Without Basic Tech
While major transit hubs such as Bhadohi, Gyanpur Road, and Suriyawan have seen various developmental works over the last two to three years, the most basic passenger information technology has been overlooked.
Reports have highlighted several key issues regarding the station's infrastructure:
- The indicator at Bhadohi station has reportedly been inactive for approximately two and a half years.
- While the telecom department has successfully replaced cables and restored the announcement system, the visual display system remains offline.
- New automatic display screens are currently sitting unused, awaiting installation at the main entrance once the new station building is completed.
Although modernization projects—including new station buildings, foot overbridges, and platform improvements—are currently underway, the immediate need for operational passenger guidance technology remains a major concern for the traveling public.
