Bhatpar Rani Crossing Glitch: 40-Minute Traffic Chaos in Deoria

Commuters in Deoria faced significant delays on the morning of October 3, 2026, as a technical malfunction at the Bhatpar Rani railway crossing brought road traffic to a complete standstill for 40 minutes.

Mechanical Fault Halts Road Traffic

The incident occurred at railway crossing number 112, situated to the west of the Bhatpar Rani railway station. Due to a sudden mechanical fault within the gate system, the crossing became inaccessible to road users from 8:40 AM to 9:20 AM.

While the technical glitch caused heavy congestion on both sides of the tracks, it is important to note that train operations remained entirely unaffected throughout the duration of the incident.

Commuters Face Inconvenience

The closure led to a massive buildup of vehicles, causing considerable distress to local travelers. Among those most affected were drivers of large vehicles, including those transporting school children, who found themselves stuck in the prolonged delay.

"The closure was caused by a mechanical fault within the gate system," stated Station Superintendent Mahendra Bhushan Pandey.

Quick Resolution by Railway Staff

Following the malfunction, railway technicians were immediately dispatched to the site to diagnose and rectify the issue. After successful repairs to the gate mechanism, the crossing was reopened for public transit, allowing the traffic flow to resume normally.
