Bhiwani-Bandra Puja Special Trains to Tackle Festive Rush

To accommodate the massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja festive period, Indian Railways has introduced special train services between Bhiwani and Bandra Terminus. These services are specifically designed to assist migrant workers and their families traveling back to their hometowns for the holidays.

Detailed Schedule for Puja Special Trains

The new services consist of two specific train numbers, operating on a weekly basis to ensure maximum coverage during the peak travel window in November 2026.

  • Train Number 09005 (Bandra Terminus to Bhiwani): This service is scheduled to depart from Bandra Terminus on November 11, 18, and 25, 2026.
  • Train Number 09006 (Bhiwani to Bandra Terminus): The return journey will operate from Bhiwani on November 12, 19, and 26, 2026.

Coach Composition and Capacity

The railway authorities have deployed a 22-coach rake for these special services to ensure a mix of comfort and capacity for the heavy rush. The composition of the train includes:

  • 3 AC 3-tier coaches for enhanced comfort.
  • 15 Sleeper coaches to cater to the majority of passengers.
  • 2 General coaches for unreserved travelers.
  • 2 SLRD coaches (seating-cum-luggage) to manage passenger luggage and essential services.

High Demand and Enhanced Security Measures

The response to these special services has been overwhelming. Railway authorities report that advance bookings have already reached full capacity, with significant waiting lists forming for many passengers seeking travel during the festive season.

To manage the influx of passengers at Bhiwani Junction, railway officials have taken proactive steps by opening additional ticket windows to reduce congestion. Furthermore, safety remains a top priority; the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) have implemented enhanced security measures and increased vigilance across the stations to ensure a safe journey for all travelers throughout the festive period.
