Bhopal Division to Refund ₹35 Lakh After Mass Train Cancellations

The Bhopal Railway Division has confirmed it will process a massive refund of 35 lakh rupees to passengers affected by recent widespread train disruptions. These cancellations were triggered by significant protests organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in Delhi, which caused severe traffic congestion and security concerns near major railway hubs.
The Railway Board has announced that approximately 4,500 passenger tickets will be refunded, with the amount expected to be processed within the next 24 to 48 hours. In a major relief for commuters, authorities clarified that passengers holding e-tickets are not required to file a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) to claim their full refund.
Major Trains Impacted by Delhi Protests
The cancellations, which primarily took place on October 9 and 10, were implemented as a preemptive measure to mitigate risks caused by congestion near New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations. The disruptions affected over 250 Mail and Express trains, impacting several high-profile services.
