Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Special: New Trains for Bihar Festival Rush
Indian Railways announces several special trains, including Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar and Ranchi-Purnia Court services, to manage the festive rush in Bihar.
To manage the heavy surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festival season, Indian Railways has announced a series of special train services. These new routes are specifically designed to ease the travel burden for passengers across Bihar and surrounding regions during the festive period.
Bhagalpur to Anand Vihar Terminal Unreserved Special
Manish Kumar Gupta, DRM of the Malda Division (Eastern Railway), has announced a dedicated one-way unreserved special train to cater to the passenger rush. Train number 04455 will run from Bhagalpur to Anand Vihar Terminal.
- Departure Date: November 8, 2026
- Departure Time: 7:00 PM from Bhagalpur
- Route: The train will follow the same route and scheduled stops as the 12367 Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Vikramshila Express.
Ranchi to Purnia Court Special Services
Another significant addition is the Ranchi-Purnia Court Special, which will provide crucial connectivity for travelers passing through Munger and Bhagalpur.
Outbound: Ranchi to Purnia Court (08625)
This special service will operate on November 6, 13, and 20, departing Ranchi at 6:00 PM. It is scheduled to arrive at Munger station at 6:45 AM and depart at 6:50 AM. The train will make stops at:
- Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Dhanbad, and Jamtara
- Madhupur, Deoghar, Banka, and Bhagalpur
- Sultanganj, Khagaria, Mansi, and Saharsa
Return: Purnia Court to Ranchi (08626)
The return journey, Train 08626, will depart from Purnia Court at 3:00 PM on November 7, 14, and 21. It is scheduled to reach Munger station at 8:05 PM. This service will feature 22 ICF coaches, providing both general second class and AC accommodations.
Additional Special Trains for Festive Travelers
To further assist commuters, several other special services have been scheduled to run during the month:
- New Delhi-Howrah Special (04054): Departing on November 11 and 12 at 6:15 PM.
- Howrah-New Delhi Special (04053): Departing on November 9, 13, and 14 at 1:40 AM.
- Anand Vihar-Sabour Special: Services 04066 and 04065 will also operate on their scheduled dates.
- Bhagalpur-Patna Special (03431/03432): Running on November 9, 16, and 23, with designated stops at Jamalpur, Sultanganj, and Abhaipur.
Massive Puja Special Initiative by ECR
The East Central Railway (ECR) has announced a massive operation of 103 pairs of Puja special trains across various routes. Many of these services will pass through the Malda and Asansol divisions, offering significant benefits to travelers in the Munger, Jamalpur, and Bhagalpur areas.
