• The arrest was executed late Monday night at Dankuni station.

Following the arrest, a police team from Begusarai arrived in Howrah on Tuesday to take custody of the suspect. After completing the necessary legal formalities, the police obtained a transit remand from the Howrah court. With the legal process concluded, the Bihar police team has taken the accused into their custody and departed for Bihar to facilitate further investigation and legal action.

Role of coordinated railway security

This operation highlights the effective coordination between the Eastern Railway security wing and the GRP, which ensured that the suspect was intercepted before he could reach his destination. The GRP has confirmed that the investigation into the criminal case registered at Singhaul police station will now be carried forward by the Bihar police. This successful operation reinforces the safety measures in place across the railway network to track and apprehend individuals attempting to use the train system to escape the law.
