Commuters in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, are facing significant travel adjustments as railway authorities prepare for critical track maintenance. Two key level crossings will be shut down, and several train services in the Moradabad Division will face disruptions or cancellations.
Bijnor Level Crossing Closures: What You Need to Know
To ensure the safety of rail passengers, essential repair work is scheduled for two specific locations. Road traffic will be halted at the following sites from September 24 to September 26, 2026:
- Bijnor-Khari Jhalu Road: Railway Crossing Number 55/B (located at kilometer 67/9-10) will close starting at 7 AM on September 24.
- Bukhara Railway Gate: This crossing will also remain closed to all road traffic during this three-day period.
The Senior Section Engineer (Railpath) of Bijnor has emphasized that these measures are vital for infrastructure safety. Local authorities have been notified, and the public is urged to use alternative routes to avoid potential traffic disruptions.
A String of Maintenance Works in the Region
These closures are part of an ongoing series of infrastructure projects within the Bijnor district. Recent maintenance activities in the area have included:
- Najibabad: Crossing number 487/C underwent maintenance from September 15 to 17.
- Chandanpur: Crossing number 7/C was closed from September 11 to 13 for track overhauling and sleeper replacement.
- Noorpur: Crossing number 446-B near the Syohara police station was closed for soil testing required for a proposed two-lane railway overbridge.
Moradabad Division: Major Train Cancellations & Route Changes
In addition to the gate closures, the Northern Railway Moradabad Division has announced significant service changes between September 26 and September 29, 2026. These changes are necessitated by commissioning work on the up loop line at Raisi Station.
