Bina Khurai station sees heavy crowds as pilgrims travel for Radha Ashtami

Devotees traveling to Barsana and Vrindavan are causing heavy passenger congestion at Bina Khurai railway station ahead of the Radha Ashtami festival. Radha Ashtami falls on Saturday, September 19, 2026, prompting a massive surge of pilgrims heading toward the Braj region. Trains operating on routes toward this area are currently running at maximum capacity to accommodate the heavy rush of travelers visiting the famous Radha Rani Temple.

The auspicious festival window begins when the Ashtami Tithi starts on September 18 at 1:01 PM and concludes on September 19 at 3:27 PM. Local authorities and railway officials are closely monitoring the situation as they brace for an estimated 2.5 million devotees to gather in the region for the celebrations. Mathura District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar have already finalized comprehensive crowd control and security arrangements.

Extensive Administrative and Security Measures

To manage the massive influx of visitors, the festival zone has been carefully divided into seven regions and 23 sectors to ensure smooth coordination. Administrative officials have been strictly instructed to ensure that all public amenities such as drinking water, medical services, lighting, and sanitation remain fully functional throughout the event. Additionally, special traffic management plans featuring route diversions in Barsana lasting two days have been implemented to prevent gridlock from external vehicles.

Security is currently on high alert across the entire region with increased police deployment and continuous surveillance. These precautions may also align with an expected visit from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Railway authorities noted that similar passenger surges were experienced at Bina Khurai during previous major celebrations including Purushottam Maas and Janmashtami 2026, which also necessitated specialized crowd control protocols.
