Train Operations Are Affected at Bina Station Due to Third Line and Yard Remodeling

Train operations under the South East Central Railway Bilaspur Zone and the West Central Railway Bhopal Division are facing significant disruptions due to third line connectivity and yard remodeling work between Agasod and Bina stations. Passengers travelling through this crucial route must note that infrastructure development is underway to improve future rail capacity. The infrastructure project involves pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking works, which are scheduled in three distinct phases affecting train schedules through mid-October 2026.

- The pre-to-pre-non-interlocking phase concluded on August 31, 2026.
- The active pre-non-interlocking phase runs from September 1 through October 12, 2026.
- The non-interlocking phase is scheduled from October 13 to 15, 2026, with residual impacts lasting through October 16, 2026.
- Authorities have announced the cancellation of 16 trains, the diversion of 48 routes, and the short-termination or short-origination of 12 train services.

Cancellations and Route Alterations

Due to the extensive engineering works, several popular trains have been completely cancelled for specific dates. Notable cancellations include the Bhopal-Gwalior Intercity (12197/12198) from October 1 to 15, the Lalitpur-Bina (64618/64617) from September 20 to 26, and the Gwalior-SMVT Bengaluru (11085/11086) on designated dates in October. Other impacted services include the Bina-Ruthiyai passenger, Bina-Katni Mudwara, Rani Kamlapati-Santragachi, and Bhopal-Damoh lines.

Diversions have also been implemented for long-distance and regional trains to bypass the affected yard. The Rani Kamlapati-Rewa Express (12186/12185) is diverted between October 8 and 14, while the Bhopal-Jodhpur (14814/14813) train is affected from October 1 to 15. Furthermore, the Tiruchirappalli-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express (20482/20481) is being rerouted via Bhopal-Sant Hirdaram Nagar-Maksi-Nagda-Sawai Madhopur.

Short Terminations and Passenger Relief Measures

To manage the traffic flow during the remodeling, several services have been short-terminated or short-originated at alternate stations. The Kota-Bina MEMU (61633) is short-terminated at Mungavali until October 15. Meanwhile, the Bina-Bhopal MEMU (11606/61632) and Bhopal-Bina MEMU (11605) will operate from Mandi Bamora.

To mitigate passenger inconvenience, railway authorities have provided temporary halts at stations including Malkhedi, Bhopal, Katni, and Katni South. Additionally, the Jodhpur-Bhopal Express (14813) had its dwell time at Bina reduced from 10 minutes to 2 minutes between September 19 and 30.
