Bus Hits Mungra Badshahpur Railway Gate; Trains Delayed
A roadways bus collision at Mungra Badshahpur railway gate caused road jams and delayed the Pratapgarh-Banaras passenger train.

A late-night collision involving a roadways bus and a railway crossing gate near Mungra Badshahpur station caused significant disruption to both road and rail traffic on Monday night.
Mechanical Damage and Road Chaos
The incident occurred around 8:30 PM on October 26, 2026, when a roadways bus struck railway crossing gate number 64B. The impact caused severe damage to the gate's boom mechanism, rendering it unable to close properly.
As a result of the mechanical failure, a major traffic jam erupted on the adjacent road, lasting for approximately one hour as vehicles were unable to pass through the crossing safely.
Disruption to Train Services
The accident also had an immediate impact on rail operations. The Pratapgarh-Banaras passenger train (55142) was forced to halt at the outer signal for approximately 15 minutes to ensure passenger safety.
To prevent further delays and maintain safety protocols, railway employees implemented the following emergency measures:
- Staff utilized an emergency boom to facilitate the passage of trains through the crossing.
- Repairs were conducted simultaneously to fix the damaged mechanism while maintaining rail movement.
Rapid Restoration of Services
Station Superintendent Ram Bali Ram confirmed that the railway staff worked diligently to restore the damaged equipment. Through these emergency repairs, normal movement for both road traffic and train services was fully restored by 9:30 PM. No further delays or operational issues were reported following the completion of the work.
