Chakradharpur Division builds seven hundred flats in Jamshedpur for railway staff

The Chakradharpur Division has announced a major redevelopment project near Tatanagar station to provide modern housing for railway personnel. Following a recent site inspection, the Additional Divisional Railway Manager has ordered the demolition of dilapidated quarters and the removal of illegal encroachments, specifically targeting approximately fifteen old quarters on Kitadih Road and the Bagbera branch ground area. Railway Vikas Nigam Limited has been tasked with overseeing the construction, which includes a comprehensive plan to build over 700 flats to replace aging infrastructure.

Redevelopment Plan and Construction Details

Initial work is already underway for new residential facilities near the Bagbera Lal Building. Once the sites at the Bagbera branch ground and Traffic Colony are cleared of illegal occupants, construction will commence to provide housing for 200 to 250 frontline railway staff near the station.

Broader Housing Strategy

This initiative is part of a broader housing strategy by the Chakradharpur Division to improve living conditions and commute efficiency for employees. Similar redevelopment efforts have previously been executed near Adityapur station. Furthermore, the division is coordinating with Railway Vikas Nigam Limited for additional housing projects, including plans for approximately 600 flats for employees stationed in Bandamunda and the Ranchi Division.
