Chakradharpur Division appoints ticket booking agents at 14 rural railway stations

The Chakradharpur Division of Indian Railways announced on September 10, 2026, that it will appoint ticket booking agents across 14 rural railway stations situated within the Kolhan region and Odisha. This initiative is designed to enhance passenger services at smaller stations that currently lack comprehensive ticketing infrastructure. Local educated individuals, with a specific priority given to both men and women from these rural areas, are invited to apply for these positions. The stations designated for these new appointments include Murga Mahadev, Noamundi, Bhalulata, Kendrapasi, Devjhar, Singh Pokharia, Panposh, Dhutra, Veer Mitrapur, Talaburu, Kunki, Kalunga, and Guwa. Under the terms of the engagement, the appointed agents will be compensated through a commission structure directly linked to the volume of tickets sold at their respective stations. This program is intended to streamline the ticketing process for rural commuters while providing employment opportunities to local residents.
