The disruption is necessary to facilitate critical construction work, including the building of a new through-roof and the dismantling of the old foot-over-bridge. The overarching modernization initiative is managed by the Rail Land Development Authority, which has set a strict revised completion deadline of December 31, 2026.To execute the heavy engineering tasks efficiently, the 36-day disruption is divided into three distinct 12-day phases running from September 10 to 21, September 22 to October 3, and October 4 to 15, 2026. Railway engineers aim to complete approximately 90 percent of the remaining structural construction during this intensive window.
