Charkhi Dadri-Nimrana rail line: Survey completed for 155 km route with 15 new stations
The proposed rail line project connecting Charkhi Dadri and Nimrana is moving ahead as the initial survey for the 155-kilometer route has been completed. This project is estimated to cost more than 4000 crore and aims to improve connectivity between Haryana and Rajasthan. Local representatives, including MLAs and MPs, have been actively discussing the plan with Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to ensure that the route benefits rural areas and industrial hubs like Nimrana.
What are the key features of the Dadri-Nimrana rail route?
The proposed 155 km long rail line will start from Charkhi Dadri and pass through several key locations before reaching Alwar via Nimrana. Charkhi Dadri station is planned to be developed as a major junction for this line. To manage the terrain near Alwar, the survey suggests the construction of two rail tunnels. Additionally, there is a provision for a shorter 40 km route through Kanina Khas and Kathuwas to expedite travel between major points.

The railway survey has identified several villages and towns where new stations or halts will be constructed. The project includes the creation of three new junctions and two crossing stations to manage traffic efficiently.

Apart from this project, the South Haryana Economic Rail Corridor is also in the pipeline. This 139 km corridor will connect Farrukhnagar to Loharu via Jhajjar and Charkhi Dadri. The Haryana government has already given the green signal for this economic corridor, and the Detailed Project Report has been sent to the Railway Board for final approval.
