Charkhi Dadri: 3km Detours as Key Railway Crossing & Underpass Close

Residents of Charkhi Dadri are facing a major logistical headache as two vital transit points have been shut down simultaneously for essential maintenance. The concurrent closure of a major railway crossing and a key underpass is forcing thousands of commuters to navigate long detours, adding significant time to their daily journeys.

Double Blow for Commuters

The disruption stems from the closure of two critical locations: the Rohtak Road railway crossing (Railway Gate No. 35) and the Gandhi Nagar railway underpass (RUB No. 20B).

The Rohtak Road crossing is currently closed for overhauling and repair work. This closure is set to last from October 17 to October 19, 2026, with the gate remaining shut daily between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM. This single closure is expected to impact approximately 20,000 commuters every day.

Simultaneously, the Gandhi Nagar underpass is closed to address chronic water accumulation issues. While repairs were initially expected to conclude by October 16, 2026, the Senior Section Engineer (Works) in Bhiwani has extended the timeline by two days. The underpass is now scheduled to remain closed until October 18, 2026, causing ongoing inconvenience to an estimated 10,000 residents.

Authorities on Alert

The North Western Railway’s Bikaner Division has officially notified the District Deputy Commissioner regarding these closures. To manage the resulting traffic congestion, local authorities—including the Municipal Council, Bus Depot, and Traffic Police—have been alerted to monitor the situation.

Plan Your Route: Alternative Options

To avoid being caught in heavy traffic or long detours, railway officials have advised the public to utilize the following alternative routes:

  • Railway Gate No. 34
  • The nearby Railway Overbridge (ROB)
  • The Rawaldhi Bypass

Strict Warning Against Trespassing

As commuters look for ways to save time, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has issued a stern warning. Trespassing through closed railway gates is a legal offense. Those attempting to bypass the barriers may face fines or imprisonment under railway regulations.
