Chopan to Hazrat Nizamuddin: New Weekly Express Proposed
East Central Railway proposes a new weekly express train connecting Chopan to Hazrat Nizamuddin, expected to start after January 2027.
The East Central Railway has submitted a formal proposal to introduce a new weekly express train service connecting Chopan in the Sonbhadra region to Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi. This proposed Chopan to Hazrat Nizamuddin train is designed to provide enhanced connectivity for passengers traveling between the Sonbhadra district and the national capital.
Proposed Schedule and Timeline
According to the details of the proposal, the new service is intended to operate once a week, with departures from Chopan scheduled for Fridays. While the plan is currently being processed, the anticipated commencement of this service is slated for after January 15, 2027.
Awaiting Official Confirmation
It is important for commuters to note that as of early November 2026, this service remains a proposal. Official confirmation from both the East Central Railway and the Railway Board is still pending. Until formal approval is granted, the service is not yet part of the active railway schedule.
Existing Rail Connectivity
The Sonbhadra region currently maintains several rail links to Delhi, providing travelers with existing options. These include:
- Singrauli–Hazrat Nizamuddin Superfast Express (22167)
- Ranchi–New Delhi Rajdhani Express (12453), which traverses through the Chopan station.
Recent railway operations in the area have primarily focused on managing festival-related demand, such as the Durg–Hazrat Nizamuddin Puja Special, alongside routine infrastructure maintenance works.
Stay Updated on Train Schedules
Since the proposed service is subject to official approval and potential schedule adjustments, passengers are advised to consult the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or official Indian Railways documentation for verified updates and definitive scheduling information.
