CSJMU Kanpur Student Rail Fare Concession: 50% Off for 5,000 Students
Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) in Kanpur has launched a groundbreaking rail fare concession scheme to assist its student community. This first-of-its-kind initiative aims to provide significant financial relief to students who frequently travel to their hometowns during university holidays.
Financial Relief for 5,000 Students
Spearheaded by Vice-Chancellor Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak, the new policy is designed to benefit approximately 5,000 students. To implement this facility, the university administration has coordinated closely with officials from the Prayagraj Division of Indian Railways.
Under this scheme, eligible students can avail of a concession of up to 50 percent on their train fares. This move is expected to greatly reduce the travel expenses incurred by students residing far from the campus.
How to Apply for the Concession
The process for obtaining the discount is straightforward, but students must follow specific administrative steps:
