New Special Trains for Dadri to Tackle Festive Rush

Indian Railways is stepping up its efforts to manage the massive surge in passenger traffic expected during the upcoming festive season. To provide much-needed relief to commuters traveling for Diwali and Chhath Puja, two new special train services have been introduced on the Howrah–Delhi route.

These services are specifically designed to alleviate congestion across major rail corridors, providing enhanced connectivity for passengers traveling through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.

Dadri Railway Station Superintendent Hemant Kumar has confirmed the details of these new additions to the rail network. The first major service is the Delhi–Aligarh special train. This service is scheduled to operate for an extended period, with operations planned until November 14, 2026. For travelers passing through Dadri, the train is expected to arrive at the station at approximately 9:55 AM.

In addition to the Delhi–Aligarh service, a second special train has been introduced to facilitate travel between Ghaziabad and Aligarh. This particular service will operate for a three-day period, with sightings already confirmed at Dadri station during the night hours.

Nationwide Festive Connectivity

The introduction of these local services is part of a much larger, nationwide initiative by the Northern Railway and other railway zones. To ensure smooth travel during the holidays, Indian Railways is currently operating over 100 pairs of special trains. These extra services are strategically placed to link major metropolitan hubs, including:

  • Delhi
  • Mumbai
  • Bengaluru
