Dara Underpass Project: Railway block extended by 55 hours in Kota, highway traffic diverted

The construction of a new Railway Under Bridge (RUB) at Dara Valley in Kota district is in its final stage. Due to technical issues during the launching of heavy iron girders, the railway block has been extended by 55 hours. This project aims to solve long-term traffic jams on National Highway-52 and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

What are the traffic and railway diversions?

Kota District Collector Piyush Samariya issued orders for traffic diversion on NH-52 and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Vehicles are being routed through alternative paths via Baran, Bapawar, Khanpur, and Jhalawar. Passenger trains on the Delhi-Mumbai rail track will also be affected as the West Central Railway (Kota Division) carries out the construction work.
