As the festive season approaches, the battle for confirmed train tickets between Delhi and Bihar is intensifying. With regular train bookings for the period of November 1 to November 8, 2026, already exhausted, Indian Railways has announced a strategic move to accommodate the massive surge of passengers traveling for Diwali and Chhath Puja.
Introducing Clone Trains for Major Routes
To tackle the shortage of available berths, the Railways is deploying "Clone Trains" that will operate as extensions of the highly popular Tejas Rajdhani and Sampoorna Kranti Express. These services are designed to provide relief to passengers who missed out on the regular schedules.

- Tejas Rajdhani Clone: This service will consist entirely of AC coaches to cater to premium travelers.
- Sampoorna Kranti Clone: This service will offer a versatile mix of both Sleeper and AC coaches.
Key Travel Dates for Delhi-Patna Route
The deployment follows a specific schedule to manage the outbound and return rushes:
- Delhi to Patna: Services will run from November 1 to November 15.
- Patna to Delhi (Return Journey): Services will operate from November 16 to November 25.
A Massive Festive Deployment Strategy
The introduction of clone trains is just one part of a much larger operation to manage the holiday crowd. Indian Railways has outlined a comprehensive plan to ensure connectivity across the country:
- Delhi-Bihar Corridor: Approximately 50 trains will operate daily between these two regions from October 20 to November 30.
- Major City Connections: Around 400 special train trips are planned from Delhi and other major cities to Bihar between October 1 and November 30.
- Nationwide Scale: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has confirmed that a total of 12,000 special trains will be operated across India, including 150 fully unreserved trains for last-minute travelers.
