Delhi Protest: Rajdhani, Shatabdi & Express Trains Cancelled on Oct 10

Indian Railways has announced the cancellation and rescheduling of several Mail, Express, Rajdhani, and Shatabdi services scheduled for October 10, 2026. This decision serves as a precautionary measure to minimize passenger hardship caused by expected traffic congestion following a proposed protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in Central Delhi.
The service disruptions will impact all trains scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations between 4:00 AM and 2:00 PM on October 10. These cancellations specifically target trains that were slated to depart from their originating stations after 2:00 PM on October 9.
Why the Cancellations Were Implemented
The directive was issued by the Railway Board's coaching directorate on October 9. The primary goal is to prevent a repeat of previous incidents where approximately 5,000 passengers were left stranded due to protest-related disruptions. Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer, confirmed that this contingency plan was implemented to prioritize passenger safety and convenience.
