Delhi-Jaipur 191km New Rail Line: Travel in 2 Hours!

The dream of a high-speed connection between Delhi and Jaipur is moving closer to reality. Plans for a massive 191-kilometer railway line connecting Delhi, Rewari, and Jaipur have gained significant momentum, promising to revolutionize travel across the region.

Accelerating the Planning and Survey Process

To ensure the project moves from blueprints to actual tracks as quickly as possible, Jaipur Rural Member of Parliament Rao Rajendra Singh recently met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The meeting focused on urging the swift completion of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), which is essential before construction can commence.

The project has already received administrative approval from the Ministry of Railways. Furthermore, the Railway Board has officially greenlit both the DPR and the Final Location Survey (FLS). To facilitate this, a budget of ₹5.73 crore has been sanctioned for the survey work.

High-Speed Travel and Economic Growth

This new corridor is designed for much more than just standard commuting. It is engineered to support high-speed rail travel, with potential speeds ranging from 180 to 200 km/h. Once the line is operational, it is expected to slash the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to approximately two hours.

Beyond passenger convenience, the line is set to be a massive boost for the regional economy. By providing critical connectivity to major industrial hubs, such as the Japanese Zone in Neemrana, the project aims to significantly lower freight costs and foster industrial expansion.

The Proposed Route and Connectivity

The new line is strategically planned to pass through several key industrial and growing regions. Originating from Rewari Junction, the route will traverse through:

  • Shahjahanpur
  • Neemrana
  • Behror
  • Kotputli
  • Pawta-Pragpura
  • Shahpura

In addition to boosting industry, this new corridor will serve as a vital alternative to existing rail routes, helping to decongest current rail traffic and modernize the national infrastructure network.
