Indian Railways has announced temporary service disruptions affecting the Jhansi-Manikpur section due to essential infrastructure development. The changes, which include train cancellations and route diversions, are scheduled from July 27 to July 29, 2026, to facilitate rail line doubling work and non-interlocking operations between Mauranipur and Rora stations.
Key changes for passengers include:
- Train No. 11801 Gwalior–Prayagraj Express is cancelled on July 27 and July 28, 2026.
- Train No. 11802 Prayagraj–Gwalior Express is cancelled on July 28 and July 29, 2026.
- Train No. 19666 Udaipur City–Khajuraho Express will be diverted via Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi-Delwara-Birari-Khajuraho on July 27, 2026.
- Train No. 19665 Khajuraho–Udaipur City Express will run via the changed route of Khajuraho-Birari-Delwara-Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi on July 28, 2026.
Reason for Rail Disruptions
According to the North Central Railway (Jhansi Division) and North Western Railway, these adjustments are vital for long-term network efficiency and safety. The double-lining project is a significant infrastructure upgrade aimed at increasing line capacity, which will eventually allow for more trains and improved punctuality across the region. While these operations cause temporary passenger inconvenience, they are necessary for the modernization of the Indian rail network.
Advice for Passengers
Railway officials, including Chief Public Relations Officer Amit Sudarshan and Captain Shashi Kiran, have urged travelers to plan their trips accordingly. Because these changes may impact travel schedules significantly, passengers are strongly advised to verify their train status via the official Indian Railways website, the NTES mobile app, or by calling the 139 enquiry service before heading to the station. Carrying a printed or digital copy of the updated itinerary is recommended to avoid any confusion during the transit period.
