Western Railway is upgrading its suburban services to reduce overcrowding and improve passenger comfort. Starting May 1, 2026, the railway will introduce 17 new 15-coach trains on key routes. The new services include both Fast and Slow trains operating in UP and DOWN directions. Eight services will run on the Virar-Dahanu route, and nine will operate on the Churchgate-Virar section. These trains will run from morning until night to ensure better connectivity across major stations.

Important travel rules and additional updates
Due to the increased length of the trains, 15-coach services will not stop at Grant Road, Charni Road, and Marine Lines stations. However, a double halt will be implemented at Dadar platform number 4. Additionally, Western Railway will introduce 12 new 12-coach AC local trains to replace some non-AC services for a more modern experience.
