The railway project has seen significant progress with the construction of Devendranagar station starting in March 2020. A successful trial run was conducted on the ready track between Nagod and Phulwari (Devendranagar) on 25 March 2026. The 7 km track from Phulwari to Devendranagar was in its final phase by April 2026.
