The closure began on Friday September 11 2026 at 10:00 AM and will remain in effect until Sunday September 13 2026 at 6:00 PM. Senior Section Engineer Pawan Sharma stated that the closure is strictly required to facilitate critical maintenance of the railway track. The primary task during this three-day window involves the complete replacement of tracks situated directly in front of the crossing.
During this period all road traffic movement at the site is completely halted to allow heavy machinery and engineering teams to work efficiently without safety hazards.
To help commuters avoid heavy delays and inconvenience railway authorities have advised vehicle operators to utilize designated alternative routes.
Recommended detours include using the Balamau Station crossing level crossing number 258-B or the Barwa Sarsand crossing level crossing number 260-C. Travellers are encouraged to plan their journeys ahead of time and factor in extra travel duration while these vital infrastructure upgrades are successfully completed.
