Hardoi Alert: Devganpur Railway Crossing Closed for 6 Days

Commuters in the Hardoi region need to plan their journeys carefully as the Devganpur railway crossing is set to remain shut for nearly a week. The closure is necessary to facilitate critical maintenance and repair work on the rail tracks to ensure passenger safety.
Closure Details and Duration
The Devganpur level crossing, officially designated as level crossing number 259-C, is situated between the Balamau and Baghuli railway stations at kilometer 1143/21-23. The shutdown commenced at 7:00 AM on October 12, 2026, and is scheduled to continue until 6:00 PM on October 18, 2026.
Pankaj Sharma, the Section Engineer of Northern Railway, stated that this shutdown is essential to carry out vital rail track repair work. During this period, all vehicle traffic will be diverted to ensure operational efficiency and public safety while the maintenance is underway.
Alternative Routes for Commuters
To avoid delays and travel disruptions, commuters are advised to use the following alternative level crossings instead of the Devganpur crossing:
- Level Crossing 258-B: Located at Balamau Station.
- Level Crossing 260-C: Located at Barwa Sarsand.
Motorists and local residents are encouraged to account for potential extra travel time while using these diversionary routes during the six-day maintenance window.
