121 km/h Dholpur Garhi Sandra Speed Trial Success

Indian Railways has achieved a massive milestone with the successful completion of the Dholpur Garhi Sandra speed trial, where a special train reached a top speed of 121 km/h. The trial, conducted on October 31, 2026, focused on a newly constructed 19.8-kilometer broad-gauge section, marking a significant leap forward for the region's rail infrastructure.

Rigorous Safety Inspections Conducted

The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) for the North Eastern Circle, E. Srinivas, led a comprehensive inspection to ensure the line meets all technical and safety standards. The process included a motor trolley survey and detailed checks at Narpura and Garhi Sandra stations.

During the site visit, the inspection team meticulously examined several key components, including:

  • The Dholpur railway station's panel room and signaling infrastructure.
  • Station operational arrangements.
  • The integrity of the newly laid track network.

Expanding the Dholpur-Sirmuttra Corridor

This 19.8-km stretch is a vital part of the larger 69-kilometer Dholpur-Sirmuttra gauge conversion project. This initiative is designed to enhance connectivity as part of the broader Dholpur-Sirmuttra-Gangapur City corridor.

The project was sanctioned with a total budget of 747 crore rupees to modernize rail infrastructure and boost regional travel.

Financial reports show that 504 crore rupees had been utilized by March 2026. To keep the momentum going, an additional 275 crore rupees has been allocated for the 2026-27 financial year to facilitate the completion of the remaining works and enhance modernized rail connectivity in the region.

Key Officials in Attendance

The successful trial was witnessed by several high-ranking railway officials, including Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Ajit Singh Yadav and the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Agra, Gagan Goyal.
