Indian Railways adds extra sleeper coach to Dibrugarh Deoghar Express

Railway authorities have announced the permanent or temporary augmentation of services to manage surging passenger traffic across major routes. In a fresh move to ease the burden on travellers, a popular weekly or regular service connecting Assam and Jharkhand is getting extra accommodation. Passengers struggling with long waitlists during the upcoming travel season will find significant relief thanks to this recent decision by the railway administration.

The railway administration has officially confirmed that one extra sleeper class coach is being added to the 15926/15925 Dibrugarh-Deoghar-Dibrugarh Express. This operational enhancement aims to boost overall carrying capacity and directly reduce the number of passengers stuck on waitlists during peak travel demand.

Schedule and Operational Dates

For the outbound journey, the additional sleeper coach will be attached to the 15926 Dibrugarh-Deoghar Express for services departing from Dibrugarh between September 1, 2026, and November 24, 2026. For the return direction, the 15925 Deoghar-Dibrugarh Express will feature the extra coach for services originating from Deoghar starting from September 3, 2026, through November 26, 2026.

This important capacity augmentation decision was officially confirmed on August 28, 2026. The step comes in the wake of proactive crowd control measures and media reports highlighting the acute need to improve confirmed ticket availability for everyday commuters.
