Digital Life Certificate Campaign: Special Camps for Railway Pensioners in Katihar
Railway pensioners in Katihar can use the Digital Life Certificate campaign and special camps to submit their annual life certificates easily.

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is set to launch the nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 5.0 starting from November 1. This initiative is designed to assist railway pensioners and family pensioners in fulfilling their annual documentation requirements with minimal hassle.
Running through November 30, the campaign aims to simplify the submission process and provide much-needed relief to elderly and infirm pensioners by reducing the need for frequent visits to banks or government offices.
Special Camps Scheduled in Katihar Division
To facilitate the process, the Katihar Division will organize special camps at various major stations and offices throughout the month. According to Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, these camps are being organized in accordance with guidelines from the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare and the Railway Board.
The schedule for the special camps in the Katihar Division is as follows:
- November 3: Katihar Divisional Welfare Section
- November 6: New Jalpaiguri
- November 17: Malda Diesel Shed
- November 20: Purnia ADEN Office
- November 25: Kishanganj ADEN Office
Hassle-Free Digital Submission Technology
A key feature of this Digital Life Certificate campaign is the use of Aadhaar-based face authentication technology. This allows pensioners to submit their certificates using an Android or iOS smartphone by simply scanning their faces, making the entire process fully digital and accessible from home.
Special Support for Senior Citizens
Recognizing the challenges faced by the elderly, special provisions have been made for those who cannot travel to the camp locations. For pensioners aged over 80 years, as well as those who are critically ill or physically challenged, railway personnel will provide assistance by visiting their homes to help them complete the certification process.
In addition to the certification assistance, the following facilities will be available at the camp locations:
- Technical helpdesks to assist with smartphone and app usage.
- Grievance redressal counters for immediate problem-solving.
- Health check-up services specifically for senior citizens.
The CPRO has urged all pensioners to take advantage of these special camps or utilize the mobile application within the stipulated timeline to ensure a smooth and timely submission of their life certificates.
