Diwali & Chhath Puja Relief: 4,000+ Special Trains Announced!

Indian Railways has announced a massive deployment of festive special trains to manage the expected surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations. To accommodate the millions of travelers heading home, an extensive network of over 4,000 special train trips has been planned across various zones.

Massive Scale of Festive Special Services

The festive operations are set to cover a significant period, with North Central Railway (NCR) confirming 1,053 'Train on Demand' (TOD) special trips scheduled to run from October 1 to November 30, 2026. Additionally, Northern Railway is coordinating approximately 3,000 special train trips, of which 2,000 have already been finalized.
