Diwali & Chhath Rush: 6 New Special Trains via Bareilly Announced!

To manage the massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festive season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of six additional festival special trains that will pass through Bareilly. These services are strategically timed to accommodate travelers during the high-demand periods of Diwali and Chhath Puja.
Major Festive Routes and Schedules
The official timetable for these services has been released, providing essential connectivity across North and Eastern India. Below are the details of the highlighted special services:
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Varanasi Special (04604/04603)
This service will utilize 22-coach trains, offering a variety of travel options including General, Sleeper, and AC categories.
- Katra Departures: Scheduled every Sunday from October 4 to November 29.
- Varanasi Departures: Scheduled every Tuesday from October 6 to December 1.
- Key Stops: Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Moradabad, and Bareilly.
Amritsar-Barauni Reserved Special (04668/04667)
This special service will complete nine trips in each direction between October 4 and December 1.
- Arrival at Bareilly (04668): 6:52 AM.
- Departure from Bareilly (04667): 12:53 AM.
Yog Nagri Rishikesh-Kolkata Festival Special (04312/04311)
Operating six trips in each direction, this train will run from October 16 to November 22.
- Route Coverage: Haridwar, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Varanasi, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Gaya, and Dhanbad.
Relief for Festive Travelers
The introduction of these reserved special trains is a direct response to the heavy passenger loads expected during the peak seasons of Navratri, Diwali, and Chhath Puja.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Samarth Gupta confirmed that the decision to launch these services was driven by the anticipated spike in passenger demand.
Railway officials noted that these special operations are designed to provide much-needed relief and ensure a more comfortable journey for commuters traveling during the busiest times of the year.
