During the Diwali festival, the demand for train travel in India significantly increases, prompting the South Western Railways (SWR) to introduce a special train service between Bengaluru and Kalaburagi. This initiative aims to manage the surge of passengers, making travel more accessible during the festive season. The Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Express special train is scheduled to depart from Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) in Bengaluru at 9:15 PM on October 30 and November 9, arriving at Kalaburagi at 7:40 AM the following day, with stops at various stations along the route.

Return Journey Schedule

 

The return journey for the Kalaburagi-SMVT Bengaluru Express special train is set to leave Kalaburagi at 9:35 AM on October 31 and November 3, reaching the SMVT Bengaluru by 8 PM on the same day. This arrangement is designed to facilitate smooth travel for passengers returning home after the Diwali celebrations, providing an efficient option to manage the increased passenger load during this festive period.

In addition to the SWR’s special train services, Northern Railway has announced the operation of 2,950 festive special trains in light of the Diwali and Chhath festivals, marking a significant increase of approximately 172 percent compared to the previous year. The majority of these trains will cater to passengers traveling to and from eastern states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Assam. Popular destinations for these special trains include cities like Barauni, Samastipur, Saharsa, and others, highlighting the high demand for train services during the festive season.
