Commuters traveling through the DKGS-RDUM section should prepare for significant disruptions as East Central Railway train cancellations and diversions are announced due to upcoming Non-interlocking (NI) work. This massive infrastructure project is part of a mega block scheduled to take place from September 21 to October 4, 2026, affecting the movement of over 50 trains across the region.
Major Infrastructure Upgrades Underway
The primary objective of this mega block is to strengthen the rail network and improve operational efficiency. The project involves the construction and connection of a new double-line rail bridge situated parallel to the existing Rajendra Pul near Mokama. Furthermore, the railway is integrating new rail lines at both Dinkar Gram Simariya and Barauni stations into the main network to ensure smoother transit.
According to Saraswati Chandra, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway, these upgrades are vital for the region. The new infrastructure will create more seamless links between several key locations, including:

- Tal Junction
- Rampur Dumra
- Dinkar Gram Simariya
- Barauni Junction
Specific Train Cancellations and Suspensions
Due to the intensity of the work, several specific services will be impacted. Passengers are urged to take note of the following schedule changes to avoid inconvenience:
Cancellations on September 29 and 30
- Muzaffarpur-Howrahpur-Howrah Express: Cancelled on September 29.
- 13157 Kolkata-Muzaffarpur Express: Cancelled on September 29.
- 13158 Muzaffarpur-Kolkata Express: The return leg is cancelled on September 30.
Long-term Suspensions
The 13419/13420 Bhagalpur-Muzaffarpur Jansewa Express will face a longer disruption, as it remains suspended from September 25 through October 4, 2026.
