Eastern Railway Proposes Chhath Puja 2026 Special Trains
Eastern Railway has proposed two new unreserved special trains for Chhath Puja 2026 to manage passenger rush between Asansol, Buxar, and Bettiah.

To manage the massive influx of commuters, Eastern Railway has proposed new Chhath Puja 2026 special trains to the Railway Board to ease the festive rush.
Proposed Routes for the Festive Season
The proposal aims to provide much-needed relief to passengers traveling during the holy festival. Eastern Railway has suggested operating two new unreserved services on the following routes:
- Asansol to Buxar
- Asansol to Bettiah
Current Status and Booking Information
It is important for travelers to note that these services are currently in the proposal stage. As of November 5, 2026, the Railway Board has not yet granted final approval or released a specific operational timetable for these trains.
Because the proposal is still under review, these services are not yet available for booking. Passengers are advised to wait for official notifications from Indian Railways or the Eastern Railway website. Only a formal announcement from the Railway Board will confirm the deployment and final schedule of these unreserved special services.
