Ekangarsarai Railway Station Modernization: New Platforms & Building
Ekangarsarai Railway Station modernization in Bihar will transform the flag station into a modern facility with new platforms and tracks.

The Ekangarsarai Railway Station modernization in Nalanda, Bihar, is set to transform the facility from a simple flag station into a fully functional, modernized railway hub.
Demolition and New Construction Plans
To facilitate this large-scale redevelopment, authorities have identified three old buildings at the site that will be removed to make way for new infrastructure. A centerpiece of this project is the construction of a modern station building, measuring 36.00 by 10.00 meters, which will replace the existing old telephone building.
Upgraded Tracks and Platforms
The redesigned station layout is engineered to handle increased traffic and more robust operations. Key features of the new design include:
- Two modern platforms for improved passenger convenience.
- Four track lines to support enhanced rail movement.
Mapping and design work for these upgrades have already been successfully completed, clearing the path for the next phase of development.
Managing Local Traffic and Market Access
With construction underway, planners are also addressing local logistics to minimize disruption. To manage traffic and prevent congestion in the nearby local market area, a temporary diversion will be implemented near the railway crossing.
This strategic measure will assist commuters and local businesses while the facility awaits the construction of a permanent under-bypass. The overall goal is to ensure that the modernization of Ekangarsarai station provides long-term benefits to the region without causing undue hardship to the local community during the transition.
