Faridabad Railway Station redevelopment leads to 45 day service disruptions
Northern Railway has announced a 45-day power and traffic block at Faridabad Railway Station to facilitate crucial redevelopment work under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This major infrastructure upgrade will impact train services, including cancellations and revised platform assignments, from September 1 to October 15, 2026.

Modernization and Service Impact
According to Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, CPRO of Northern Railway, the project will lead to significant operational adjustments. Construction work on the tracks associated with platforms 2 and 3 will occur daily from 12:05 AM to 3:05 AM, with slightly adjusted hours on the first and last day of the block.
During this period, nine EMU and suburban train services will be completely cancelled, while approximately 20 long-distance trains will bypass Faridabad entirely. For 43 other trains, including 17 'Up' and the 26 'Down' services, platform assignments will be shifted to platforms 4 and 1 to maintain traffic flow.
Additionally, the Bandra Terminus–Haridwar Junction Express (Train No. 19019) will face a 45-minute regulation between Palwal and Faridabad New Town for journeys commencing on August 31 and October 14. Some long-distance services will begin bypassing the station as early as August 30 or 31 and continue through October 13 or 14.
Airport-like Facilities for Passengers
The redevelopment project, estimated at ₹262 crore, aims to transform Faridabad Railway Station into a world-class facility. The master plan includes new station buildings, separate arrival and departure zones, a wider concourse, food courts, and waiting lounges. To improve passenger convenience, the project also includes multi-level car parking and two 12-meter-wide foot overbridges.
Current progress updates indicate that railway quarter dismantling has been completed, and design work for the North Foot Over Bridge and multi-level parking facility is ongoing. RPF Faridabad Post In-charge Shravan Kumar has advised all passengers to verify their journey status through official railway channels before traveling to avoid any inconvenience.
