Train operations at the Faridabad railway station will face significant disruptions for 45 days, spanning from September 1 to October 15, 2026, due to ongoing station redevelopment projects. According to Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northern Railway, a power and traffic block will be imposed on Platforms 2 and 3—specifically covering Line numbers 4 and 5—to facilitate essential construction work under the jurisdiction of the Delhi Division. Passengers planning to travel through this route should note that total cancellations, train bypassing, and platform reassignments are expected during this major infrastructure upgrade period.
The construction is scheduled to occur daily from 12:05 AM to 2:35 AM on September 1 and October 15, and from 12:05 AM to 3:05 AM between September 2 and October 14. Passengers are advised to carefully check their updated schedules before heading to the station to avoid any inconvenience during their daily commute or long-distance journeys.
As a result of the infrastructure work,
nine train services have been completely cancelled for the duration of the period. These affected services include train numbers 64908 Shakurbasti–Ballabgarh, 64071 Ballabgarh–Shakurbasti, 64052 Ghaziabad–Palwal, 64015 Palwal–Shakurbasti, 64078 New Delhi–Palwal, 64057 Palwal–Ghaziabad, 64012 Shakurbasti–Palwal, 64013 Palwal–Shakurbasti, and 64076 New Delhi–Palwal, with the last one being cancelled specifically on September 1 and October 15.
In addition to cancellations,
20 other trains will bypass Faridabad without their scheduled stops. This list includes prominent long-distance services such as the Malwa Express, Grand Trunk Express, Ujjaini Express, Puri–Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express, Kerala SF Express, and the Nanded–Firozpur Cantt Express, with some changes taking effect as early as August 30, 2026.
Travellers should also note that
the platforms for approximately 43 trains—17 Up and 26 Down—will be reassigned during the redevelopment phase. Furthermore,
Train No. 19019 Bandra Terminus–Haridwar Jn will be regulated for 45 minutes between Palwal and Faridabad New Town for journeys starting on August 31 and October 14, 2026. Passengers are strongly advised to verify their travel status through official Indian Railways channels to plan their journeys smoothly.
