Faridabad Relief: 19 Express Trains Resume Stoppage

With Faridabad train services restored after a 45-day rail block, daily commuters can finally travel without major disruptions. The end of the construction-related block has brought much-needed relief to passengers who have been facing difficulties for the past month and a half.

Resumption of EMU and Express Services

The Indian Railways has officially brought several essential services back to the tracks. A total of nine EMU services have been resumed to assist local travelers, including:

  • Shahdara–Ballabhgarh Shuttle
  • Ballabhgarh–Shahdara Shuttle
  • Ghaziabad–Palwal
  • Palwal–Shahdara
  • New Delhi–Palwal

Furthermore, the stoppage of 19 major express trains at Old Faridabad station has been reinstated. This decision will significantly benefit passengers traveling between Delhi, Palwal, and surrounding areas, as they no longer need to seek alternative stations to catch these trains. Key trains resuming their halts include:

  • Malwa Express
  • Grand Trunk (GT) Express
  • Ujjaini Express
  • Kerala Superfast Express
  • Punjab Mail
  • Andaman Express
  • Himsagar Express
  • Pune–Jammu Tawi Express

Ongoing Redevelopment Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

The recent service disruptions were necessary to facilitate the massive redevelopment of the Old Faridabad station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This project is being executed at an estimated cost of approximately ₹242 crore to modernize the station's facilities.

While the train services and stoppages have returned, the construction work is still in progress. Current activities include:

  • Connecting the buildings located near the NIT and National Highway sides.
  • Installing girders for the construction of a new foot overbridge.
  • Completing foundation work for pillars on platforms two and three.

Traveler Advisory: As construction work continues on both platforms, train operations and platform assignments may still be subject to change. Passengers are advised to listen to railway announcements and check information boards for their designated platform numbers before boarding.
