Ferozepur Alert: Bhagtanwala-Patti Trains Suspended for 7 Days!

Commuters traveling through the Ferozepur railway division are facing significant disruptions this September. Two key train services have been scheduled for suspension for a period of seven days, starting from September 21, 2026.

Affected Train Services

According to an official press release from Northern Railway, the following services will not be operational during this period:

  • Train No. 74686: Bhagtanwala-Patti
  • Train No. 74685: Khemkaran-Patti-Bhagtanwala

These specific services are set to remain suspended until September 27, 2026.

Reason for the Shutdown: Infrastructure Upgrades

The suspension is a direct result of planned technical work at Manawala station, located within the Sahnewal-Amritsar section. To facilitate essential improvements, the railway will undergo pre-non-interlocking (PNI) and non-interlocking (NI) block work.

The primary objective of this infrastructure project is the construction of a long loop line and the implementation of other technical modifications at the station to improve the network.

Wider Network Disruptions

The impact of this block work extends far beyond just these two specific trains. The infrastructure project is causing a ripple effect across both the Ferozepur and Moradabad railway divisions:

  • Total Impact: A total of 36 trains are being affected by these operations.
  • Service Cancellations: 21 train services are scheduled to be cancelled, with 6 services facing full cancellation through the duration of the block work.
  • Schedule Adjustments: Many other trains will not be fully cancelled but will instead face route diversions, partial cancellations, or significant schedule adjustments.
