Festive Relief: New Kanpur Central–Udhna Special Train to Ease Diwali & Chhath Puja Rush
To tackle the massive surge in passenger traffic expected during the upcoming festive season, the North Central Railway has announced a dedicated special train service. This new route is specifically designed to manage the heavy travel demands during Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja.
Connecting Students and Business Hubs
The special train, operating under number 04167, aims to provide essential connectivity for various passenger groups. It will serve students traveling to the educational center of Kota and passengers heading toward the textile and diamond hub of Surat via Udhna. Furthermore, the service will enhance direct travel links between Kanpur, Kota, and Vadodara.
Service Schedule and Timings
According to details provided by Dr. Shivam Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of the Prayagraj Division, and NCR PRO Ragini Singh, the service will run from October 2, 2026, to November 27, 2026. The schedule is as follows:
- Departure from Kanpur Central: Every Friday at 10:00 PM (22:00).
- Departure from Udhna: Every Saturday at 11:25 PM (23:25).
- Arrival at Kanpur Central: 10:10 PM (22:10) on the second day of the return journey.

The train will feature a total of 24 coaches to accommodate a wide range of travelers. The breakdown includes:
