Fog Warning! 13 Trains Affected: Prayagraj, Kolkata & Gwalior Services Rescheduled

Travelers planning their winter journeys need to take extra care. The North Central Railway has officially announced significant operational adjustments for 13 train services to tackle the disruptions expected during the upcoming winter fog season. According to an official statement released on September 25, 2026, these changes are set to take effect from December 1, 2026, and will continue through February 28, 2027.

Major Service Suspensions: 4 Trains Fully Cancelled

To manage the difficulties caused by low visibility, four specific train services will be completely suspended during the fog months. If you are traveling on these routes, please plan an alternative:

Prayagraj - Muzaffarpur (14112) and Muzaffarpur - Prayagraj (14111): These services will be cancelled from December 2, 2026, to February 24, 2027.
Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi - Kolkata (22198): This service is cancelled from December 4, 2026, to February 26, 2027.
Kolkata - Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi (22197): This service will be suspended from December 6, 2026, to February 28, 2027.

Reduced Frequency: 7 Trains to Run on Limited Schedules

While seven other trains will remain operational, they will not run on their usual daily or frequent schedules. Passengers should verify the specific days of cancellation for their routes:

Gwalior and Barauni Services

Gwalior - Barauni (11123): Will not operate on Mondays and Thursdays (December 3 to February 25).
Barauni - Gwalior (11124): Will not operate on Tuesdays and Fridays (December 4 to February 26).

Lucknow and Jhansi Connections

Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi - Lucknow (11109/11110): Weekend services on Saturdays and Sundays are cancelled from December 5 to February 28.
Agra Fort - Lucknow Junction (12180/12179): These services will skip Saturdays and Sundays between December 5 and February 28.

New Delhi and Kanpur Routes

Kanpur - New Delhi (12033/12034): These trains will be cancelled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from December 1 to February 27.
