Indian Railways Proposes Two New Express Trains Connecting Gaya to Bhubaneswar and Santragachi

Indian Railways has formulated a proposal to introduce two new express train services originating from Gaya Junction to enhance connectivity between Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. These upcoming services aim to provide seamless travel options for passengers travelling across these eastern states. The proposal currently awaits final approval from the Railway Board, which will determine the official operational schedule and commencement dates. As of September 4, 2026, the blueprint for both trains has been officially drafted and submitted for final clearance.

Gaya to Bhubaneswar Express Schedule

The proposed Gaya-Bhubaneswar Express is scheduled to run four days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The train is slated to depart Gaya at 1:30 p.m., arriving at Manpur at 1:50 p.m. and Gomoh at 5:15 p.m. Key intermediate stops include Koderma, Hazaribagh Road, Parasnath, and Gomoh. In the return direction, the train will depart Bhubaneswar on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, arriving back at Gaya at 11:45 a.m. the following day.

Gaya to Santragachi Express Timings

Additionally, the proposed Gaya-Santragachi Express will operate three days a week on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays. It is scheduled to depart Gaya at 7:20 p.m. and reach Santragachi at 5:45 a.m. the next morning. The planned route includes key stops at Paharpur, Koderma, Dhanwar, Jamua, and Nawadih. For the return journey, the train will depart Santragachi at 8:00 a.m. on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays, arriving at Gaya at 7:50 p.m. the same day. Final implementation of these services depends strictly on the official sanction from the Railway Board.
