Ghaziabad-Moradabad MEMU Service Resumes After Track Work

Commuters traveling between Ghaziabad and Moradabad can finally return to their regular routines. The MEMU train service, which includes a vital stop at Hapur, is officially set to resume operations on Monday, October 5, 2026.
The service had been temporarily suspended for ten days, beginning on September 25, 2026. This pause was necessitated by critical infrastructure maintenance required at the Ghaziabad railway station.
Essential Infrastructure Upgrades at Ghaziabad
To enhance long-term operational safety and efficiency, railway personnel utilized the suspension period to carry out intensive repairs. The primary focus of the work was on platform number four, where teams worked to replace old tracks and damaged sleepers. Executing these upgrades required carefully coordinated power and traffic blocks to ensure the work was completed thoroughly.
Relief for Daily Commuters and Hapur Passengers
The maintenance period concluded on October 4, 2026, paving the way for the service's restart. Mahesh Yadav, the Senior Commercial Manager of the Moradabad Railway Division, confirmed that the MEMU service is back on schedule.
The resumption of these trains is expected to provide significant relief to thousands of daily passengers. In particular, residents of Hapur and the surrounding areas, who rely heavily on this specific transit link for their daily travel, will once again have access to reliable connectivity between these two major hubs.
