Ghaziabad Yard Work: 8 Trains Diverted on Dec 4
Northern Railway has announced a major 7.5-hour traffic block in the Ghaziabad yard scheduled for December 4, 2026. This interruption is necessary to facilitate critical maintenance and track upgrades aimed at improving the reliability of the rail network.
The scheduled work involves significant signaling and track renewals. Specifically, railway engineers will be replacing existing 52 KG components with 60 KG full-set switches at points 328A/331B, alongside other essential track maintenance.
List of Diverted Trains and New Routes
Due to the yard work, several long-distance services will bypass major stations. Passengers should take note of the following changes:
- 19307 Indore-Una Himachal: This train will travel via Hazrat Nizamuddin, Tilak Bridge, Delhi Shahdara, and Noli, skipping Meerut City.
- 12401 Kota-Dehradun & 19019 Bandra Terminus-Haridwar: Both services will operate via Hazrat Nizamuddin, Tilak Bridge, Delhi Shahdara, and Shamli, bypassing Ghaziabad, Meerut City, and Muzaffarnagar.
- 19031 Sabarmati-Yog Nagari Rishikesh: This train will follow a route through Delhi Junction, Delhi Shahdara, Shamli, and Tapri. It will omit Ghaziabad, Naya Ghaziabad, Modinagar, Meerut City, Meerut Cantt, Muzaffarnagar, and Deoband.
- 12904 Amritsar-Bandra: This service will run via Shamli, Shahdara, Tilak Bridge, and Hazrat Nizamuddin, skipping Muzaffarnagar, Meerut Cantt, Meerut City, and Ghaziabad.
- 12402 Dehradun-Kota: This train will take a diverted path, bypassing Ghaziabad, Meerut City, and Muzaffarnagar.
- 18238 Amritsar-Bilaspur: This train will also be diverted, skipping all stations located between Tapri and Hazrat Nizamuddin.
